To be eligible for admission, an applicant must have a High School Diploma or its equivalent (GED Certificate), or be beyond the age of compulsory attendance and be able to demonstrate the ability to benefit from the training. Before an applicant can be accepted for admission, he/she must:

ABILITY-TO-BENEFIT TESTING & GED PREPARATION CLASSES

If an applicant is beyond the compulsory school attendance age and seeks admission based on their ability to benefit (ATB), the applicant must pass a federally-approved ATB examination. PCI currently uses the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test, which is approved by the U.S. Department of Education.

PCI strongly recommends that any person who is not a high school graduate and has not yet obtained the GED Certificate, do so as soon as possible. While a secondary school credential is not a requirement to enroll at PCI, nor is it a requirement for graduation, PCI feels that it can greatly enhance each person’s employment possibilities. To assist any individuals seeking assistance in obtaining a GED, PCI provides GED Preparation Classes. This training is offered at no cost as a public service and is open to any interested persons, not just PCI students.
